It was a dark and stormy night,suddenly a shot rang out................

Ok, so you have seen the pix,and I am here to tell you they don't do it justice.
We went down a day earlier than planned,because the seller said interest had been very brisk(the bike was only listed for 5 days before we exchanged paper)
Arrived in Abilene,got the $100 tour of everything Goldwing,and took her out on a test ride. SOLD!!!! (it was sold before we even got there,but you know)
Secured insurance,exchanged a wad of cash for a title and away we went(to Olive Garden)Ate us a bite,and then put her in the wind!!! Got about 20 miles north of town and was gearing down to get some go-go juice when I got the most HORRENDOUS shudder in the right footboard and a noise that sounding like a chainsaw trying to cut metal. FANTASTIC!!!!
Put her on a tow-truck,got us a room and at 8:01 am was on the phone with the owner of the bike shop. He came right over,got the trike and said,"go get some breakfast and come to the shop,I'll have her ready". Got to the shop and sure enough he had her all back together,and also had parts book opened up to the page with all the driveline parts so he could show me the $6 washer that the last "mechanic" forgot to install?!?!
*SIDENOTE* RPM 741 S Treadaway in Abilene,Tx is run by one of the most friendly,knowledgable and down to earth people I have ever encountered. If anyone is ever in Abilene drop by and say hi to Ronnie(owner) and Willy.
SO!! Headed out again,got that desperately needed fuel,and was about 6 miles from the shop and THE DAMN THING JUST DIED!?!?!?(The queen was being attacked by cell phone,I guess the cafe was on fire or something.....not really,but I sent her on her way home.) Well by now Ronnie is on speed dial. He is starting to get a bit chafed(not at me,but at the guy he was selling it for) He rolls up,throws in a shop battery and fires it up,has me follow him back to the shop,where a power system check shows the alternator is putting out SQUAT!! Rebuilds the alternator and has the trike back out front in about an hour. We shoot the breeze a bit and when I realize I really need to get rolling so as not to get caught in deer country when it got dark I took off.
And I rode the next 230 miles with the wind in my hair and a smile on my face that just would not quit.
Since friday afternoon we have put almost 700 miles on her!!!!
