The EPA just sent out a notice to all Laundromats to instruct it patrons when they are washing socks to tie them together in a knot especially cotton socks. It seems that a lot of single socks are getting past the washing machines drains and then passing past the local sewage treatment plants and ending up in the nations waterways, The problem is the socks especially cotton socks absorb's salts and other chemicals left over from the laundry detergents ' And many homeless people who tend to frequent the edges of most waterways, Will then pick up the socks and use them and develop a life threatening rash.. There have been 35 reported injuries resulting in one death....So please tie your socks in a knot...
