As most of you know, there is always "one more thing" to do or buy for the trike to run better, or be better.
I've been doing and buying for quite a while, and it feels like I'm there finally! Woo Hoo!
Yesterday I went for a 500 mile ride over 2 mountain passes (in Washington), on a perfect day. It was clear and 81* where I went to.
After getting the Hannigan conversion, a 120ST, dyno, Target Tune, new Michelin rear tires plus a rear Dunlop on the front, Fuel-moto exhaust, new compensator, 30 tooth sprocket, and other stuff; it is now just an awesome ride; FINALLY!!
Going up the passes there was zero issue for lack of power, it just goes as fast as you want to go. There have been more than a few times I was ready to give it up, just not what I wanted it to be; lack of power & reliability issues mostly.
I think the icing on the cake getting it to run so well was the PV Target Tune.
I had installed it a few months ago, but I didn't know that at some point, one of the 12 wires to the Target Tune had come loose and it just didn't run right, hence the dyno (in which they saw but did not fix the problem) Thanks to Fuelmoto for their help. It runs so smooth now.
Can't wait now to get out again! Oh yeah, I was getting 18 mpg when it ran like crap (in comparison); with new injectors and Target Tune I'm close to 28-30, and that's riding it hard.
All it needs now is a good washing!
Cost of success? Unmentionable.
