The Chief is thinking "Trike"

Will wonders never cease? My own dear Chief is considering getting a trike of his own--either triking his Harley or ... who knows?

His old-guy knees are deteriorating steadily--partially due to a motorcycle accident in his early 30s--and while his riding skills are some of the best I've seen, I can tell he's in pain when he has to put his feet down for whatever reason. Parking is murder on his joints.

I can't help but think that he'd never have considered it if it weren't for seeing how much fun I'm having on Goldie and getting to know the great folks here at TT. And truly, he's still in the fact-finding, tossing-it-around stage, but I wanted to share this cool news!

LOL!! The "Fact Finding, Tossing It Around Stage" was about a six month evolution for me!! Then it took another three weeks after backing out a couple times to finally pull the trigger on the Champion Kit for my Ultra. The great part is, I had a lot of fun doing the research on different kits and options and even considered trading for a Tri-Glide. I finally decided on the kit so I could keep all the previously installed "Bling" and modifications that the dealers chose to ignore in the trade in offers. Tell the Chief that he'll prolly lose a little sleep making this decision...but I'm glad I did it and don't even have my trike yet!!!

That's great, the family that trikes together has fun together. Any thing that would let you both ride and have fun, without the pain  is worth it. A couple in my park just picked up a new Harley Trike, and the wife got his Harley voyager trike. Now he's teaching her to drive, and they are having a great time.

YOU GO EARL!!!!! :beerchug:

I don't think you will be sorry. Besides, you still have the honda if you want to ride 2 wheels occasionally.

Why do so many guys think it is like a threat to MAN hood if you ride a trike. U hear the same thing I am not old enough. I still am strong enough. If i have to i will/ well I did it cuz I liked the looks of it and also Honey loved it too. ;)

I think a lot of people believe that you can't possibly have as much fun on a trike as on a bike. Of course we here all know they're wrong--and now Earl's starting to understand it too. :D

Juju tell Chief we are with him. Just jump in and do it. He will be glad he did. He will enjoy the ride instead of worring about what might happen.

Judy, I think Chief will make the right decision.

We know a pretty good builder near Dothan don't we?

I didn't save very much by triking my Ultra compared to the Tri-Glide but I did get to ride 5000 miles this summer without having to wait 4 to 8 months on a tri glide. It was worth it to me:D
