The Bike Becoming A Trike!!

Well, I dropped it off yesterday, should be done in a couple weeks, kind of excited. I just signed on here back in November and have gathered a lot of information from the many posts that I have read and I thank you all for that! I am a retired motorcycle cop, (disabled in on duty wreck 20 yrs ago), was able to start riding again back in 2004 on a 04 H-D Ultra Classic. My buddies at the trike shop, who did the regular service on my bike, have been bugging me for 7 years now to convert to a trike, but I just wasn't ready, you know, macho motorman needing three wheels?, anyway with my legs getting worse it's become too hard to hold the beast up so, I'm officially on my way to becoming a triker!! I chose the Lehman Renegade kit and am looking forward to getting it on the road! Hopefully I will figure out how to post some pics of the conversion and finished product. Not sure if it's ok to post this, but the I want to give a plug to my buddies at M & J Motorworks in Martinsburg WV, an official Lehman Dealer for anyone interested, and as I said, they have been working on my two wheeler on and off now for about 7 years with quality service, which seems increasingly hard to find these days!! Anyway, thanks again for the info given through your posts here on Trike Talk Forum, I'm glad to have found you guys and look forward to reading more!

Welcome Jim. Lehman builds a very nice trike...you'll have no regrets. ThumbUp

So glad you joined us, Jim :). Once you adjust to the new steering (no leaning) style, you are going to love that trike! No doubt you'll wonder why you held out for so long!!!

Welcome Jim, after you ride for a while you will wonder why you did not do it sooner...
Keep us informed on how things are going... and yes we love pictures...

WELCOME to TRIKE TALK Jim.....You're a very short amount of time away from realizin' You just made the most Fun decision ever.....ThumbUp

Thanks again for the welcomes and the reassurance on my decision. I am really getting excited, kind of feel like a kid at Christmas!! :D Looking forward to the stability of the trike and not having to worry about putting my bad leg down in a emergency or at all for that matter. Want to do some curvy roads again but since getting hurt I've always been a little timid about the possibility of going down on the bad leg side, with all the metal in it I'm sure it would hurt real bad!! :censored:  Well only a couple weeks then I'll ride it as much as winter will allow, and then down to Key West in April!!:D:D:D

Just be aware........coming from two wheels to three, the FIRST lesson will come when you put your feet down at a traffic light and run over your own foot as you take off ...........

Don't ask me how I know.....

Welcome from WV

Welcome aboard. Us cops sure don't want to admit it was time. I finally did also 2 years ago and have not looked back. I ride as much if not more. Let me know when you are headed for Key west, I will make sure I pull you over as you go thru Key Largo.

Wheels, Ted told me I'd have to be going a lot faster than 10 mph over to get stopped down there. Do me a favor and see just how much more it takes. Be sure to let me know :D  :pepper:

Congrates on the new conversion. I hope you are having the rake kit installed at same time as your trike kit. Its like adding power steering to a dump truck.
