Well, I held off posting anything until, the issue was resolved.

a week ago when I started the TG it would run fine and in about two minutes the lifters would start ticking badly, after 15 minutes or so it would stop and be fine....not good! Also I had a bad leak from the right rear shock, wtf?
Called my dealer and was not a happy camper, TG had 325 miles, still has the temp tag on it! The came and picked it up, fixed the lifters right away, replaced both and the breather assembly, had to order the shock, TG in shop for 7 days waiting on shock, course the holiday didn't help....
picked it up yesterday, all is good except I had to get a new gas cap.....cheap plastic I guess, had to replace the one on the ultra too before I traded it in....

guess thats what a warranty is for...took care of me but still didn't make me happy, 325 miles a lifter goes south, hope this is not just the beginning....

Casper, I kind of know how you feel. When I got my 2016 TGU, just after the 1000 mile service, my left radiator sprung a leak and while dismantling the lower fairing, the tech stripped out an imbedded metal part that had to have the whole painted part replaced. I was advised that it could take up to 30 days to get the parts. Luckily, Harley came through and had the part to my dealer in 10 days. Things were going swimmingly and had 5000 miles and had just done the 5k service on the trike when my wife mentioned a couple of days later that there was a little puddle of oil on the garage floor underneath the TGU. I couldn't find the leak until the next day when I realized that the left rear shock was leaking. Had it replaced and then began to wonder if another shoe was going to drop. Well, I am glad to tell you that I turned 14,000 miles on the Tri Glide this week without so much as a hiccup.

I guess the take-home message is that these are assembled by people and there are a lot of people that make the parts that go into these machines. Some never have problems while others have more than their share. It is sort of up to the luck of the draw. You have a 2-year warranty so let all the crap that can break, break during the warranty and if you are a bit skeptical like me, you buy an Extended Service Plan that limits your liability to $50 a repair. I really, really like my trike and am not worried in the least about it breaking. It is covered so WTF:pepper:, let Harley worry about their workmanship:cool: cause they are going to be picking up the tab.

Wow Casper, we were within a hair of buying a 16 Billet Silver from BG back in the Spring. One of those walk in and impulse buys. Not to say it was the same or even if you bought it there but we decided to stay with our 2011. Still would like to have that color tho....

Heard a rumor that the MOCO is not using the air assist shocks on their bikes for 17. Not sure if that's true. I got rid of mine and went with Pro-Action.

Wonder how many of those failed parts are imported?
Have owned 4 Harleys. Last was a 2001 Ultra Classic. It had a choke failure and needed cam tensioner pads @ 47K. Think that speaks well of endurance!
Traded it in 2006 for a Wing. Triked it in 2010, sold in 2016. No issues with it.
Been very fortunate over many years, many bikes. No major problems on any.

No air shocks on 2017 bikes but the trikes still have them.
