i got a little paper from the dmv with a list of things that ill need to register it as a trike but it doesnt say where to find rules/limits and if you can do a reverse trike (indy trike) like half f1 car with a moto rear end.

the most important thing i need to know is do i need to keep my stock frame because of the vin number? it really only adds up to about 6" more to the front of the motor but thats enough to shorten the wheel base enough to make a difference in stability.

id like to make the chassis out of dom tubing similar to what this guy did, id just want the wheels swept back near the riders (i mean driver's) knees.

i know from watching the premier of top gear on bbc that anything over there is classified as a moto if it has 3 wheels or less, no matter what position. im curious if its the same way in tx or can i just forget my go-kart dreams?

Can't answer your questions because I live in Florida, but WELCOME ABOARD.

If you converted from two wheels to three the State of Texas does not recognize a trike. To them, fortunately for taxes, it is still a motorcycle.

Where did you find this information? Do insurance companies feel the same way also? I'm waiting to get my trike conversion and was wandering if I had to tell anyone that I made changes to my M/C. thanks for the info....
