Ma and I were about 1700 miles into a 2300 mile trip when I tried to back out of a parking space with a disc lock still on the front disc brake. As soon as the bike stopped I knew what I'd done. Got off and took the lock off and every thing LOOKED ok. But as I pulled away from the parking spot I tried the front brake and had to pump the lever to get a solid brake handle. And had to do this every time I needed to stop all the way home for the next 600 miles. I stayed way away from any traffic ahead of us and didn't have any problems all the way home. Took it to my locale shop the next morning and it only turned out to be a bent rotor. He took off the caliper on that side and spun the wheel and it was easy to see how badly bent it was. Fortunately a few weeks earlier a woman wanted a chromed front end with chrome discs also put on her bike so I picked up a practically new disc for $50 and $20 to mount it. At a Harley shop I'm guessing the disc would have been at least $140 and $90 to mount it. I must have been livin right lately.
