Stripped floorboard bolt

I was adding the DK floorboard extensions and the right front bolt head stripped. I thought no biggie, got out my handy dandy extractors…. And the bolt snapped off.

I thought ok I’ll drill the bolt and back it out with an extractor… the extractor snapped in the bolt.

Well after several hours with a dremel and carbide bit I removed the extractor. I drilled out the hole with a 5/8 bit and had to through bolt the mount with a 4” grade 8 bolt and nut until I can see about putting a helicoil in. IMG_2799.jpeg
Looks like the old bolt was maybe cross threaded. Looked like only blue loctite.

What a day!
This is exactly why I bought different floorboard extensions. I had so much trouble with this exact bolt location I said never again. I don't know what HD is doing with this bolt but they really need to take a serious look at how they assemble the floorboards.
Glad you were able to work through this and get it corrected.
