Strange thing happened

Monday I ordered a Power Vision from Fuel Moto for my 2012 Triglide and had the them install a tune for my stock bike to improve the proformance and heat problem. This would be a temp program until I get my new head pipe and air cleaner in the future.

Wednesday I took the trike to the local Harley dealer for the 5000 mile oil change and check up. I wanted to have this done before heading out to Maggie Valley for the ralley. When they did the oil change I had them put Harley Syn oil in all three holes.

Also on wednesday my Power Vision unit arrived from Fuel Moto.

Now for the strange thing that happened. When I got the bike back from the dealer after servceing it I took I for a ride and my trike never ran so good. To test it out better I went home and got my GF and took her for a ride and the Trike still ran the best that it ever has even with the extra load.

Now did the Syn oil really make that much difference or did I just scare the trike into running better by ordering the Power Vision? Maybe the dealer re-flashed the ECM but I don't think so with out chargeing me for it.

The trike is running so good I don't know if I want to install the Power Vision now. I not complaining but I am sure scraching my head. :Coffee:

I just had my 1000 mile service done, had them do the syn-oil in engine, primary and trans and I noticed a BIG difference in the preformace when I picked it up, starts better runs better just all around better, clutch works 100% better, shifts GREAT, BIG, BIG improvement.

I have not had my 1K done yet but I did get a PV from Fuelmoto last week and had them install an "improved" calbration for an otherwise stock 2012 Tri Glide. I too am waiting on my headpipe.

I flashed the new cal to the ECM and the difference in performance and heat is unbelievable! I imagine you got this same calibration so I'd recommend you flash it to your trike ASAP.

Even if the dealer for some reason (very doubtful) did the Stage 1 download and didn't tell you, it does not adjust fuel.

I can't wait to hear your report after flashing.

Hey MD... They may have down loaded some updates that it needed, and they don't charge for doing that. A lot of us on here found out last summer that we needed some updates down loaded, and after getting them done, our bikes ran better, cooler, and quieter. And then even better after more$$$$ modifications. If you search on here for download code threads, you will find a lotta info. And...if you want a nice upgrade to your tranny operation, have them put the Redline Trans fluid in next time. My dealer highly recommends it too, and you will notice the difference even more than the synth oil.

I had the stage 1 and down load and synthetic oil, Its worth doing,The stage 1 changed the red line from 53 to 63 hundred, Big power increase, And also coming off of high revving Metrics's i would always bounce off that 53 red line, 11 T/G.

There were times when I questioned the trading in my 2002 Heritage on the 2012 Trike, as the Heritage was such a smooth riding and sweet running Bike.

After yesterdays ride on the Trike it is the happyest I have been with the trike as it just ran great.

Now all I have to do is convince my self is to flash the ECM with the new Power Vision tune. I guess it won't hurt to do it as I can save the orig ECM setting first.

try spectro oil's or red line oils. r/l makes a shockproof syn motorcycle gear lube that really quietens down the tranny. and they make a 20X60 syn motorcycle oil. the only place i can find it i order mine from HRPWORLD.COM
SPECTRO & R/L OILS ARE A BETTER QUALITY OIL THAN SYN 3.

I've used Harley Syn in all the motorcycles my wife and I have owned. The dealer has told me on most of the bikes when in for service if they flashed updates to the computer. Never had running or heat problems with either trike, the E-Glide before that, or wife's Deluxe. Never used any tuner, or vendor uploads. Guess we just have a great Dealer out here.

I use all Syn on my '10 TG. Biggest diff was when the flashed updated ECM (at no charge). Made big diff in running. Though I still bog down a bit when air temp gets up there or wind is high.

Well, I flashed the tune that Fuel Moto sent me with my Power Vision this afternoon and went for a ride the trike runs really good now.

Tomorow is offf to get a spare tire for the trailer for my Maggie Valley run next week. Leaving Monday morning.
