My '96 Gl1500A/Motortrike has begun something strange. When I push the starter button the starter does not engage till I release the button. Today, I had to back out of a spot and pulled the reverse lever, pressed the starter and nothing. Had to manually push myself backwards to get out of the parking spot. Any ideas?

Its not uncommon for the starter button to get dirty. If you take it apart and clean it ,it will probably be alright. Go on wingdocs and there will probably be a video on how to do it. Hope this helps.

You can always get some contact cleaner and spray some into the switch. Might help and then again it might not but that is where I would start. No pun intended:laugh:.

Usually this is a good sign that the starter switch is dirty and needs to be cleaned. I use radio shack cleaner lube on my 1800s and its safe for plastic.
