Squeak from front of trike

I have a squeaking noise coming from the front of my trike. I have the springer front end that came on the roadhawk. It sounds like it is comming from the springer. I took a small paint brush and greased the two rods that that the springs are mounted on. I thought it might be the washers going up and down on the rods. After I greased the rods it quit for a short and now it's back. I don't see anything else that would squeak up front. Anyone else had this problem? Or how to diagnose a noise.

First of all, with the trike parked, push up and down on the front end. Does it squeak then? If not then raise the front end and spin the tire to see if your getting the squeak.

I have seen a lot of the springer type front ends that squeak when they bounce up and down.

However, if after raising the front end and spinning the tire, you then hear the squeak it would indicate a bearing in the front rim.

I've found that noises from a springer often come from the top and bottom seats of the springs. It will be a bit of a challenge if you use grease, but try lubricating each spring seat, both top and bottom for each. A shortcut to lube those areas would be to spray a bit of lubricant/penetrant liberally on each seat area.

Hope that helps.

I'll try both of these suggestions. Maybe one will work. I haet a rattle or a squeak.
