Welcome to Wyoming!
Three days ago we had highs near 60 degrees with 45 mph wind gusts.

Today we enjoy a balmy 8 degrees below zero and the wind chill factors are to be 30 degrees below zero.:clapping:

That's the MAIN reason we moved here to Surprise Arizona. Don;t have to worry about clearing our windows of that crap! Plus the driveway and then have the plow truck come by and put it back. It was 82 here yesterday with a low of 58. We got out here around the end of Sept and It's been Sunny and warm everyday. ThumbUp. WE paid our dues. NOT moving back :D

We went to visit one of our daughters in SIMI Valley, Calif. My other daughter flew in for 5 days. She also hates it and what you have to go thru for 6 to 7 months. She LOVED every bit of time she had out there with us. But it wasn't snowing when she left home. But the forecast wasn't good for her return. Talked to her a day after she got home and after the snow fell. She said I HATE this stuff ! Going from 85 to 90 to 23 isn't a pretty site at all. Plus all that white stuff on the ground. Believe me when I say she'll be back here soon. She has 2 kids and a husband to convince 1st. But ma ma rules that side of the family ThumbUp

Or buy a couple more tons of pellets!
Our pellet supplier was told by the pellet manufacturer that they would not be supplying pellets to them any more, they were going to sell to the big box stores, caught everybody by surprise. I was going to buy two more tons, but now, have to find out what is going on.
I am hopping they will get another manufacturer before I run out. Or burn oil!

Here's an excerpt from I story I wrote long ago, When I wore a younger mans clothes.
I prided myself on being tough enough to take whatever this country threw at me.

Now is see it was quite often fantasy and see that it probably kept me from "advancing" socially?

Out here I have seen a hundred cattle driven into a fence corner by hellacious winds and freeze to death in mass while huddling close for body warmth and being able to do nothing about it. feeding them oats along with the horses while they are yet able to eat to boost the ability to produce body heat to no avail. Impossible to drive them against the wind to safety and being totally covered over by deep snow drifts.
bodily lifting calves to carry them to a warm vehicle or a trailer pulled by a tractor because it was the only way to get to them.
Even pushing snow up with a D-8 cat trying to produce wind breaks where there was nothing to slow the winds but a couple strands of barbed wire.

I've seen deer lay down and freeze solid with their heads up as if looking around for danger when the danger was deadly and invisible.

So I can honestly say I've gone to bed with regret and waken up with remorse in more than one facet of my existence.

There is a price to be paid for every lifestyle one chooses.
I've lived the best and the worst of my choices.

I hope you enjoy what I've written?

"The terrain in thisWyoming Country is a vast expanse of diverse landscapes.
In parts of this state one is regaled by the high peaks and Forests the travel brochures expound to attract tourists to the state and are well worth the trip.
But for the most of the state it can be said that Wyoming is a series of plains mixed with high mountain dessert country.

One of the outstanding features of the state is that towns are usually 100 plus miles from one another.
<o:p>Residents of this state know that the biggest concentrations of people are found in the economic centers of its larger towns, and that there are many small communities that lay claim to most of the rest of the population who number fewer souls than there are antelope on the prairies that surround them.

<o:pThen there are the folks that make their living on the wide spread ranches that in many incidences encompass B.L.M.lands and make it possible to operate livestock operations.
On some of these ranches there is also the existence of large oil fields and a handful of big coal mining operations.

<o:p>The ranchers, oilfield workers and coal miners are a fairly hardy lot who soon come to understand the unique working and living climate of this state.
They come to understand that in this country the wind has the biggest chance of killing you and the rest will either freeze you, drown you, or have you standing in mud up to your ass and wiping dirt out of your eyes at the same time or will bite, burn or sting you.

Welcome to the State of Wyoming Y”all!

<o:p>For those whose subsistence is gleaned from the land the prospect of going into town can be cause for excitement.
Plans must be made to secure all of the supplies needed to exist so many miles from the nearest trading center but once in while a few friends might just head the 60 or so miles into town to kick up their heels on a Saturday night or sometimes a few friends might get out there bikes and head in for nothing more than a ride or just to get a pizza?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So friend Trailblazer:

I really have lived a good life out here and this where I will likely die, I just can't see myself in a place where society makes foolish and unreasonable demands on a man.

I have yet to be emasculated by folks who think they have the answer to questions they have never even been able to formulate into an intelligent query?

I've made the best out of how I chose to live my life, There are a hell of a lot of things I wouldn't trade for the convenience of big city living, warm weather or having too damn many people underfoot every day.

I live in a town now for the proximity of the medical center; but my heart was left on the ranch and in high country and my nightly dreams take me back to a man who wore his hair much longer and stood with defiance at threat and reveled in the beauty of my surroundings.

The point?

Enjoy your life, It has an expiration date!

That's some Damn Good Stuff PC ThumbUp
Thanks for sharing.

We think Acceptance & Gratitude are THE Keys....

Those ARE the keys my friend, I have come to discover what's important and what isn't, and you and i DO have the answer to the age the old question (" why are we here to begin with?")

one of the hardest lessons we have to learn in this life, and one many never learn, is the ability to observe the ordinary and perceive the extraordinary.

I've had enough conversations with you to know you understand that of which I allude to.
