How offen do most of you change the spark plugs? I ask because Harley recommends every 10 thousand...Or so, Mine are original and at 37 thousand +... And the trike is running great...ThumbUp

like you I stopped changing my plugs as often as the book call for. I have 25,000 and counting. also stopped changing air filter as often. I changed both a per Honda and the old one looked as good as the ones I put in . I think if ether starts to fail you will see it in the performance and gas mileage.

Considering premium unleaded has extremely high concentrations of cleaning agents, I'm betting the plugs will go 50k without issue. Plug build quality is much better too.

I was just asking , Because Harley recommends inspecting every 10 thousand which means pulling them out ... Any if i ever pull plugs out i will always put new ones back in.. No matter what the old ones looked like...Back in my drag racing days.. 63/64..:cxtv:...67/69... I cut the electrodes back..[I shoulda patented that] And only ran them for 4 1/4 mile runs, Then pulled them out [8 plugs] and put new ones back in..
After 4 runs i would lose about 2 thousand's off my ET...But if i left them in for more than 4 runs they would stabilize and wouldn't lose anymore..?

Heh ..... They are covering their butt from a legal standpoint. Inasmuch as their bikes get shipped world wide, the quality of gas elsewhere may not be as good as ours. And, there is the occasional tool that insists on running less than the recommended grade fuel just so he can save a dollar at the pump.
