Hi guys, have sold my HD Fat Boy a few years ago, now going through bike withdrawls. However, may be getting knee replacement, so thinking about trikes. I have ridden the Can Am Spyder and loved it, when I worked for HD I rode their trike and hated it, but the new Freewheeler seems to have addressed the issues I had as to poor balance of handling and comfort. Plus, the earlier trike had a tendency to flip if you had to perform an emergency turn....friend of mine did that. So, tell me what I should be looking for. I am a big Harley guy, so don't care if it is an aftermarket trike conversion or the new factory trikes...I am all ears...ummm, eyes...:xzqxz:

Welcome to TT from WV. I have a 2015 Tri Glide and love it. Ride as many as you can and pick the one that tells you "take me home". Good luck on your search and keep us posted.

welcome aboard swamp rat from key largo.

I think your friend that flipped a TRI was doing something way more than an emergency maneuver. I have ridden my 2 TRI's together more than 85k miles and have made several emergency maneuvers and many harsh planned maneuvers and never came close to flipping it. There are thousands of TRI-Glides out there built since 2009 and if there was a stability problem I think we would of heard about it by now. That being said you can turn anything over if you really try to.

Okay all that being said go to Space Coast Harley Davidson in Palm Bay (about an hour up I-95) ask to see Tony a sales manager (tell him Ted and Heidi/Larry from Key Largo sent you). He will set you up to test ride to your hearts content both the TRI GLIDE and FREEWHEELER. If you like one he will give you a great deal.

Good luck if the factory stuff doesn't do it for you then a conversion might be in order.

WELCOME to TRIKE TALK....what Gorilla said on the "flip"...I'm a really aggressive "Test Rider" if I can get to an empty parking lot to test "side roll/spin out/wheel lifting", and to even lift a wheel on a H-D Factory Trike really takes some deliberate trying, and maneuvers that fall under "stupid"....and yes, take some Test Rides...I prefer the Freewheeler of the two H-D Trikes, but Everyone has a personal favorite.....ThumbUp
