Unbelievable that this idiot and embarrassment to Canada is allowed to enter the US but I'm not. Approximately
42-44 years ago a wee tiny bit of "weed" was found in my car. Because of that charge I am no longer welcome
to enter the US without spending thousands of dollars on a waiver, good for only two years at a time, that still
does not guarantee that a border guard will let me in if he doesn't like the way I look. I cannot even touch down
in a US airport to change planes without risking being arrested and thrown in jail.:mad::mad:

Not to pry - but if this happened in Canada and you get a Canadian pardon, then when crossing the border you need say nothing about a conviction. If you have already told the US border folks of the conviction or if the offence happened in the USA, then, you're correct, it costs $$$$'s to resolve the issue.

When crossing into a foreign country, we're all on a pretty level playing field (without prior convictions or with pardons); a border officer can deny us entry for any reason and there's no appeal. Border officers have a lot of authority, something frequently forgotten by many.

There's no doubt that when we're young and see ourselves as ten feet tall and bullet proof we do things that sometimes haunt us for the rest of our lives. These are the messages I passed on to my children and now my grand children - hopefully the grand children listen - my children all did!

Best Wishes RcSuD so that you can at some point resolve your border crossing issues - it truly is an inconvenience!

ThumbUpThumbUp,,,,I definetly see your point !!! please keep him up there and you just come on down ( bring a joint if you want ):Meds::Meds:

That (both situations) IS a Travesty...
For what it's worth, I don't know Anyone personally who would have any objection to You or your visiting Anytime.
You could fly to Mexico, then sneak across the Border. You'd be an Instant Persona Grata, get a U.S. Driver's License, get free Cash and Assistance from the U.S. Gubmint, Get a Job (if you want one), Get Health Care, and be protected in your Residency anytime and Come & Go as You please. Habla Espanol Mis Amigo :D

As for Boo-Boo,,, he needs to join Rodman in North Korea and both of them STAY.

I think I'll keep this option open, sounds pretty good to me. :)

When our friend Boo-Boo joins Rodman in North Korea, drop a nuke on them, 3 for one deal.

Ok, here's the story: The pot in the car was not mine. I'm no angel, I smoked a lot years later, but at that time of my life I smoked regular tobacco, and drank a little beer. When the cop pulled me aside he told me that if I denied it was mine, my friend and I would
both be charged. If I admitted it was mine, only I would be charged. Being 19 or 10, I'm thinking, I'm cool, I'm tough, I'll take the rap
for my friend. Little did I know that 40 some odd years later I would paying big time for that mistake.

Several years ago I tried to cross the border to go visit my sister in Washington. Before I even got to the booth they held me back, probably running my license plate number through their computers. They waved me aside and brought my wife and I inside. I was basically treated as a hard core criminal. Mug shot, finger prints, the full meal deal. They told me that the American gov. never forgets
or forgives these charges. They did explain to me the procedure to get a waiver and the thousands of dollars it would cost.

I was sent back to Canada, with a warning, that if I tried to enter the US again, without the waiver, they would confiscate my car, everything in it and arrest me. What charge I don't know, but I'm not about to find out. All this crap for a few grains of pot.

All I want to do is to be able to visit my sister in Washington, a state that is now easing their laws on marijuana possession, without it
costing me an arm and a leg.

now I was all for shooting the ground hog but I aint eatin that beiber !

I don't blame you, I don't even want to smell him.
