Solo Seat Options for a Freewheeler

I'm the owner of a 2017 FLRT (Freewheeler) with just under 10K miles on it from last year's riding. So I've ridden it enough to become dissatisfied with the stock seat and the reduced reach seat HD sells. I also want more cargo space for roadtrips.

So I'm looking for a solo seat that will fit my trike and perhaps provide a means for attaching some sort of rack where the passenger portion of a two-up seat would be.

Anyone know of any or a place that could build one?

Thanks

The Bob

P.S. Here's my trike "Serenity".

Hello Bob! I don’t have any answers for you but I’ll bet someone who does will chime in pretty soon. Just wanted to welcome you to TrikeTalk from west Texas.

Welcome Bob;)

I do know all HD touring seats will fit

I dunno about the mounting of a solo and a rack

May be 1 of as kind for now

Good luck on your search

Thanks for the welcome guys I appreciate it. My Freewheeler is my fifth three-wheeled motorcycle but my first traditional trike. Right now I simply use the passenger perch for a large Wolfman Duffel Bag, but I hoping someone has come up with something better.

TBAGS

Have you looked at Tbags they mount by slipping over your passenger backrest. They can go forward on your passenger seat and form a lunge chair type support for your back on long rides! I've been using them for years on both 2 wheel baggers and the freewheeler. The passenger back rest will require the pad to be mound for the slip fit mount of the Tbag to fit snug! Tbags come in different types and size; Check them out.

I know Harley makes a solo seat for their Electra Glide police models, have no idea if they could be made to fit or even how they mount.

It would take a new seat pan for the rear that would marry to whichever solo seat design you wanted to go with. A custom auto upholstery shop could probably fab up a one piece pan and custom make the seat. It wouldn't be cheap though. The OE seat pan on a freewheeler is molded plastic and not easily converted. Good luck!

I set a Roadking solo on my Freewheeler just to see

You would have to drill 1 hole for the rear cage nut ( well nut) plus cover up the part of the frame the original 2 up seat sat over for cosmetics. It could be done but IMO not worth it to me

The problem is covering up what was under the passenger seat area. I looked at doing it, but the only thing that made sense was a full length fiberglass pan for structural stability since there is zero side support back there. I wanted a solo seat with a removeable pillion with the lines flowing with the trunk area and painted to match when the pillion was removed. It was just too much design and cost for me. I may do it down the road.

I rode a H-D Sundowner solo seat for years. The rear of the seat bolts into the passenger grab bar holes. Haven't tried in on my Tri-Glide. Might be something I do this weekend.

Any pics of one completed?

I have read the multiple threads on a solo seat. Has anyone completed the task. We would love to see pics.

I found a pan on eBay and am knocking around the thought if I could create a solo with a bitch pad appearance. Jazz it up with rivets or something.

I have a blank black canvas to work with.
