Slowing down, time for a softer ride

At 64 I find my body is making me pay for all the stupid things I did in my younger years. I just sold my V-8 Trike (see profile), that I've been riding for 20yrs. Just bought 2 wings, "85 GL1200, & '88 GL1500. Plan is to ride 1200, while building trike with 1500.

A GL1500 trike is a good thing. Just a few horses shy of the 1800, but to me, mine had more leg room for the operator. I still have a soft spot for the 1500's, and 88/89 were very good years...

I'm by no means a Wing expert. But I can tell you that in my opinion the GL1500 felt like it had more leg room than the 1800's do. Not sure what the difference was. But anyway, they have plenty of power.

No doubt about it the 1500 has more leg room and it doesn't get as hot on your legs as the 1800 Goldwing. I had a 89 1500 wing and loved it, and some days I wish I still had it. Good luck with your build ride safe and have fun!

I am not a Gold Wing expert either, but I believe the difference in leg room is that Honda lowered the position of the motor in the 1800 to lower the center of gravity. The 1500 was a little top heavy.
