sleepless night tonight

That's too close to home! What happened Jonesy? Did the cop give you any details?

no, just that there was a homicide had taken place, no signs of force entry. state police crime scene van, mobile police command center and tv vans, we got 3 cops that live on the street so its a quiet street for all these years.

That's why I purchased a gun to protect my family with. I have enough ammo to dissuade anyone from coming in to my house. I remember when we didn't even lock the doors. In Chapel Hill today at UNC a man killed his neighbors over parking spaces..

I just looked it up on the Internet...still nothing showing in breaking news on the Mass Live Republican site....you could check later or watch the Springfield TV News....not an uncommon occurrence in Springfield these days....at least your not far from the Liberty St. State Police barracks....I used to have to deliver gasoline (big rig tanker) into lots of the Springfield gas stations at 2 AM and there are several stations I was extremely concerned with my safety. Even though I'm from and live in Vermont I developed a very keen sense of city life awareness while doing that work....much the same as you're feeling this evening.

For those not from the area and wish to read about it check:

Sorry for what has happened and the misfortune of your neighbors.. Reminds me of the time I started to work in a Derby Refinery in Wichita, Kansas. First day there I was working on the fence out front, when all of a sudden cops screamed in from all directions. Seams that somebody had just been murdered in the house across the street.
I got questioned by several different policemen. Hadn't seen a thing. Acted like I was not truthful with them. Come from a small town, don't like big city police.

Steveon3, Some things to keep in mind: If you're ever awakened by a noise in the house, or worse yet, a noise in your bedroom, the other guy is wide awake and fully ambulatory. You probably are not. This isn't the movies. Ya sure you want to get in a fire fight in your house with the wife (kids/grandkids) there? Unless the homeowner is a combat vet, he is probably at a significant disadvantage.

It is sad that this is growing like it is.
This is why I live in the country. Too much going on in the city life.
Tried it, didn't like it.
