i'm wanting to purchase a shop manual for my 1997 goldwing 1500 se.
is there one that is better than the rest, or should i just go with one from honda? is the honda manual still available for a '97? i read a while back something about a GOLD BOOK, or a BLUE BOOK, or something like that. anyone know about it? any help is appreciated.
thanks-dave

You can get manuals from Mother Honda for about any year, I believe no matter what brand of bike you have, the factory ones are the best and usually most complete. The aftermarket manuals can be handy, though. They sometimes have different ways of doing things than the factory manuals.

Check out this link berfore spending the bucks.

Have fun wrenching!

The Gold Book is a list of GWRRA members that other members can access for breakdown help, local info ,etc.
As for the Blue Book, the only one I know is the Kelly Blue book that tells value of used cars/bikes

I downloaded the one for my '06 and my '97 that I had. I just take the laptop out to the shop with me and go at it....

i have found honda manuals(originals) from helm, inc.(honda licensed publisher). cost is $60 for the '97 goldwing.
