Shock problem

On a recent trip from Alabama>California>Washington> Wyoming> Nebraska, etc I had a seal blow out on my auto leveling 2013 GL1800/Roadsmith. Compressor ran constantly and it rode like a horse drawn wagon. I pulled the fuse on the compressor and started looking for a Roadsmith dealer on the west coast. The only one I found was Dave's Trikes in Pasco,WA (they're scarce) so I called and ask if he could help me. He was very helpful, called Roadsmith and had it shipped overnight. I was in Redding, CA but Dave said to be there Wed morning and he would install the shock.

To my surprise Roadsmith had shipped both shocks, under warranty, and Dave had me back on the road by 10am.

It's people like Dave at Dave's Trikes and the great service from the guys at Roadsmith that makes traveling a lot easier when a problem pops up.

Wondered if anyone else has had a seal blow on the Progressive air shock?

Yep. The newer model shocks are supposed to eliminate the problem. Mine have been on since last Sept. and so far are working fine. Roadsmith also helped me on that problem and actually sent a replacement shock set to dealer while I was on trip just like you. Everyone has problems and it's comforting to know Roadsmith has our backs when things go wrong. And I must say, not much has gone wrong that was Roadsmith's fault.

This was one of the reasons I have always liked retaining the manual Dash Adjuster, hate to get stuck in the woods some where with something I can't fix on the fly.

Not a knock on Roadsmith but me personally would like to do my own adjusting - it just doesn't change that much once you get the HAPPY SPOT located... To each his own preference !!!

AccuRide

This convenient new option is an auto leveling system that adjusts the suspension for various loads with Progressive Air Shocks. Using a magnetic sensor, AccuRide knows exactly how much to "air up" or "air down" the shocks depending on the load. This allows the trike to always be at the correct ride height, with no need for manual
adjustment. (Click to enlarge picture)
