Shift Knob Question

Does anyone know if the plain black plastic shift knobs on the Champion and Motor Trike mechanical reverse kits can be replaced with a fancier knob?

Are they threaded or glued onto the actuating rod?

If you know any toolmakers take the shift handle to them and they can thread it.

Thread size is 1/2-13 , my knob looked like it was loc-tite on. came off hard, but do-able.
