Sheepskin vs beaded seat pad

Well, my Route 66 trip to California and the Saddlesore 1000 on the way back was very enjoyable do to the beaded seat pad.

In the past, even with the RZ seat, I would shift just a little every once in a while and my sciatic would drive me crazy almost all the time. The beaded pad ended all that - even less shifting and the sciatic was almost completely eliminated. I'm now a firm believer in the beaded seat pad. I was only going to use it for long trips, but now I'm keeping it on all the time. It really does keep "the boys" cooler. :D

I used a similar pad a couple of years back, felt disconnected from the trike especially negotiating curves.
I am going to try the beaded pad.
Has anybody felt disconnected with the beaded pad ?

I have used both. I never felt disconnected. I find the bead seats to be more convenient in that you don't have to put them away when it rains or worry about them getting wet. The bead seats also give a cleaner less obtrusive look. Just MHO.

I made a beaded seat a few years back, & never take it off until it gets below 50-60 degrees out. Been on a lot of twisty's & never had any problems at all.

beads vs sheepskin

I have used both and prefer the beads. Beads let air circulate and sheepskin gets wet in the rain and doesn't dry to fast. Happy riding

I take my beads off when I clean my trike & the seat will have little indents where the beads were. By the time I get the trike clean & put the beads back on they are all but gone.

Same with me. Since the pad is movable the beads don't always stay in the exact same place.
I haven't heard of any seat damage with the pads.

msocko3, he did add "or vinyl".
