Stopped in at the harley dealer today, price a touring service manual and a trike supplement for my 2018. They wanted $120 for the touring manual which when I bought mine for a 2016 it was $60, the trike supplement was around $120, I think I paid around $78 for my 2016 trike supplement, not sure on that. They sure raised the prices on these, I walked out without ordering them since they didn't have them in stock, I'm glad to, I would have bought the dang things if they would have had them.

Ok, will my 2016 manual and supplement work for my 2018, I know the 2016 was twin cam and 2018 is M8, at least to a certain extent. More interested in the trike supplement than the manual so to speak.

You have a totally different motor in the new M8.

I bought mine for my 2017 for $17. It has the touring manual, the electrical manual & the trike supplement. I believe it's Service Manual Warehouse.

Thanks, I seen this online, I might do this later but prefer a hard copy but the price is right for sure, sure would hate to try and print it out, wow, it would take alot of paper and ink for sure.

It's simple, I print out the pages I need. I made a copy of the brake fluid bleeding/replacement pages, as well as the clutch fluid replacement.

You can get the touring manual from Boardtracker H-D for $107.00. Free shipping and no tax unless you are a WI resident.

And the trike supplement is $73.00.

Still not cheap but worth every penny imo.

I seen this and I might just order them, still pricey for sure but cheaper than what my dealer whats for them

I think harley is over pricing them to prevent people from buying them so they can come to dealer for service, JMHO

I agree, and they can keep raising the price of service, too bad because a lot of folks do not do their own work and Harley knows this

I'm guessing we need both manuals. The service manual AND the trike supplement??

And I suggest the parts manual also for a couple reasons: 1) I often order online at one of the discount dealers and I like to check things out to make sure I'm ordering the correct part(s) and 2) the diagrams are way better and more detailed than those found in the service manual(s). I find reading the directions in the service manuals is quite often a bit confusing to say the least. Seeing how parts fit is a great help to me when working on the bike/trike.

The online manual from the link I posted also includes the electrical manual that is invaluable for troubleshooting & it also covers every electrical connection on the trike, as far as disassembly & pin/wire removal. The 3-part PDF manual covers 1,650 pages of great info!

Another member mentioned that he got it online, like me & took it to Office Depot (some office supply place) and got it bound & he was still way ahead. You can also remove & replace individual pages, if needed.

I personally don't have the money to spend on HD manuals from them, when I got the same thing or better online for my trike for $16.50. That extra $200 save will do a lot of needed ergonomic upgrades you will like every time you ride your trike.

I agree 100%. I bought the first couple of service manual sets, including for my first trike (2014), but when I downloaded my first pdf manual, I decided I would not go back to the (any) dealership for another printed manual. I can find what I need quicker in the pdf, and print what I need to look at on paper. And with the money I saved, I can do a lot more good for my ride.

I bought both 2016 manuals online for less than $85 for the set. They're black & white pages printed on 20lb paper, both are in very nice 3-ring binders, making it very easy to remove pages to only take the ones needed to the work location. I also like that I can easily copy and print or scan pages for digital use.

H D manuals

Here is a link for the 2018 manual.

It's very easy to use in PDF format. Mine was over 1,600 pages.

I was on another forum and people were talking about the price of a service manual the the new Tri Glide. I mentioned I would not spend @ 200 dollars for a manual and supplement when I can get a pdf copy for around $20. (I might add you can get them for ALL motorcycles). Holy crap, I opened a can of worms on that one. The moderator removed my posts and PM me and informed me... in no uncertain terms and I have been warned... "that Harley DOES NOT print their manuals in pdf form and the forum will not allow illegal ( ie copy right infringement) copies to be advertised on this site. And I, as law enforcement should know better "..........? I wasn't advertising anything. Just voiced my opinion. It's a good forum. I see some of the people on this forum also on that one.

Most likely driven by Forum Owner(s) policy to ensure that members don't cause their loss of Manufacturers & Vendor Ad Dollar's and other fees. Copy Right Infringement, notwithstanding.

Note to self: Wonder how many of us, if in the same position, would be willing to jeopardize our income stream, by falling on the sword for someonelse's cause? In all honesty, I can't really say for certain I would!
