Voltage regulator R & R. If you have a 2012 Tri Glide, check with your dealer. You may require a replacement voltage regulator.
We were traveling south of Cincinatti and was caught in stop & go traffic, 100 degrees. We creeped along for 20 minutes. All a sudden, I have a "check engine and battery" light. Bike was running ok; we were just cooking. Once we go moving, both lights went out. We took the next exit, both lights came back on. We pulled into a gas station, topped off, started the engine, both lights extinguished. We rode to Lexington and stopped at Man-of-War Harley Davidson. I talked to the service manager and he ask what the voltage read while the light was on. I simply did not look at it; how stupid.
The service manage pulled out the service bulletin M1325, went out to my trike, check the numbers, and came back in and said my bike was included in the service bulletin. 2 hours later we were on our way.
By the way, they had a dozen young ladies posing for pictures as part of Harley Davidson search for Calendar Girls. I hate to say it, but this ole guy had trouble keeping my eyes off them. Their underwear would have covered more.
