Saturday our HOG Chapter had lunch with the residents of a local nursing home. After lunch we gave the residents that wanted to about five mile rides on our bikes. The lady I have on my Trike is 94.I had four different riders and none was less than 80. We all have a good time and don't know if the residents or we enjoy it more. Our Chapter has been doing this for seven years. It is great to see the smiles on their faces we they get on the Harleys.

That is very neat. My 93 year old mother in law is in a nursing home and I've thought about giving her a Trike ride. I would need a couple people to help me get her on but I think she would like it. Thanks, you have rekindled my interest in pursuing this.

A forgotten segment of our population to be sure. Most of our seniors just want someone to spend time with them and talk to them. My wife and I were responsible for her Uncle. He never married, no kids and out lived all his brothers and sister. I visited him 3 times a week and stayed several hours each time. He and I came to look forward to those meetings. I learned so many things from him about the history of our town and since he was a master plumber, I learned many things about plumbing too. But mostly I learned the value of his friendship. He has since passed on and I miss him every day.

I applaud you for taking time to make those folks day. I'll be they are still talking about y'all. The Charlotte HOG chapter does the same thing or used to when I was a member. The folks I carried for a ride had the enthusiasm and excitement of a kid.

Thanks again for your good service. And exactly how did you get my trike up there to ride them?

Steve

Very nice, what a great thing to do. I commend all of you!
My 85 year old neighbor want me to take her on a ride and before I could do it she passed away. I regret that to this day. So if you get a chance to help and give somebody a right Do it and don't wait. :(

I didn't have time to borrow your bike so I bought one like it. We have good taste

The MC club I'm a member of did this for years for nursing home people. I had a sidecar at the time and I never had any down time just a constant line of waiting persons. Really had a great time plus the home fed us lunch to boot. Some of the passengers refused to get out of the car, they wanted ''seconds'' before somebody got their first ride. Thanks to the lawyers the home just could justify the cost of insuring the event. A loss for everyone.
