Screaming Eagle Pipes

I would recommend the H-D Fatshotz slip ons. Great mellow sound and not offensive.

I had SE Touring slip ons on my 03 Ultra-they're a little quieter.

I have the 4" SE mufflers on mine and they are quiet. They make just enough noise for me. When you twist the grip they will bark. To me they have a nice deep rumble.

I'm looking for something louder than whats the stock set-up. Just to quiet for me !

If your still running the factory head pipe with the catalytic converter you could perk up the exhaust note with the Screamin Eagle Thunder Street Performance slip ons PN 65115-10. These mufflers are the exact mufflers Harley used to sell up until late 2005, off the top of my head I believe the old PN was 65115-98b. At the time they were labeled for off road use only. Now with the introduction of the catalytic converter HD was able to bring them back for use on 2010 and later touring, they are 50 state legal with the 2010 and later exhaust.

If you remove the catalytic converter or install a Fuel Moto Jackpot head pipe or one of Fullsac's pipes they will be much louder, I believe they were right around 93db with a non catalytic converter head pipe.

The H-D Fatshotz(made by Supertrap) are a little louder then stock, but mellower. No where near as loud as Rhineharts.
Cruising down the highway they sound like what a motorcycle should sound like......in my opinion :D

Someone from the AMA came to our HOG meeting last month and had a sound meter with him. He checked all the bikes that wanted a check up. Mine was under the limit so I feel OK riding anywhere in the country and not worrying if I'll get ticketed. :Coffee:

I have these on mine with the vance and hines power duals, they sound good. The HD web site say they do not fit the trike or CVO models, but they do. They sound good without the Cat in the headpipe.

I've found a lot of parts HD says doesn't fit the trike work perfectly on the trike. A person just has to be willing to investigate and take a chance.

With more states trying to just check for the EPA stamp for compliance, the Fatshotz are stamped with that all important statement. Though if I'm ever safety checked for that, it's going to be fun watching them get under the trike to see it.

Here you go Skeet,

These are the Fatshotz but I installed the closed end caps and added extra discs to mine. It was a kit I purchased from Supertrapp. The medallions were added to cover the holes made when my old bike was dyno'd. They had to drill holes in the end caps for the sniffer. I like the end caps, keeps the noise down, my ears can't take too much any more.

Delta,
You and I seem to have different slip-ons. Mine have the open ends. Pictures you posted look like it has the closed ends. Am I just not seeing it or are they closed? (Could be the difference in years as I have a 2009?)

We have the same pipes. I bought the end cap & disc kit from Supertrapp. It also comes with the security Allen wrench & longer screws. My ears bother me after a while and this setup takes some of the sting out, while still sounding good.

I have a 2012 TG. I checked and I will have to wait for the Jackpot header and even longer for the ceramic coated header. If I go with the Fatshotz, will I be able to adjust them when I install the header pipe. I researched this over the weekend and I am probably more confused as to what tuner I should be using. I am new to this forum and am looking for some input because it is obvious that most of you know more about this then I do.
Thanks!

Mine are open also. That's why I bought the Fatshotz instead of the Supertrapp mufflers. They are different looking then all other pipes.

If you mean by adjust - can you change the number of discs, etc. - yes you can. For example, since I posted the pics, I have gone to an open end cap as an experiment, and liked it. I then did a few tuning runs to properly adjust the VEs to the change and uploaded that to the ECM. My bike is not too lean or too rich - it is just right.

I will not recommend a specific tuner to you. If you go to the other HD site there is a lot of info on the different tuners available. I happen to use the Power Vision and am very comfortable with it. If you purchase it from Fuel Moto, you will get twice the warranty, free support, and more importantly a map (tune) pretty darn close for you bike.

Ok guys, I'm really confused about these mufflers. Please give me the difference in the Supertrap Fatshots and the HD Scream Eagle FatshotZ. I'm very confused now and don't understand how the SE Fatshotz become tunable. I understood that they could not be changed at all.
I want mellower and just a tad louder than stock. I heard a 12 TG with the Power Dual and stock mufflers the other day and I did not like the sound. Not having the cat made the stock very loud. I'm sure it had a tuner and probably a Supertuner because this dealer will not offer after market at all now.

Delta, your mufflers are FatshotZ and you did change the end caps and add disc right? But can't you do this to the Supertrapps also?

Which muffler will be more mellower, and not loud.

I have the Fat shots on my 2009 Tri. Love the low mellow sound. They sound good when you get on the throttle. They even sound better since I put the Woods 555 in.
Really think you would love them.

I think supertrapp probably makes the SE Fatshotz for HD. They are both tunable, the disc are held in by screws and you can either take some disc out or put some in. But to properly tune you need a tuner. I have the SE Super tuner but have used the dynajet power commander and hearing Delta talk about the power vision I went on their web site and that power vision sounds like a great product. check it out; Dynojet Research Inc.- Power Commander, Automotive Dynamometers, Motorcycle Dynamometers, ATV Dynamometers, Jetkits, Wideband Commander, Wideband Commander 2, WB2 ; oh I have the Fatshotz on my 2011 TG

I had the V&H Twin Slash Slip-ons on my 04 Ultra & they had a reall nice mellow sound They would be perfect for you. The shape has changed alittle. The ones I had were more oblong or oval. But they were a real nice sounding mullfler. Good luck. Jim

Well, I just put on Fuel Moto's Jackpot 3 1/2 inch mufflers on my 2012 Triglide yesterday and they sound just great. Nice and mellow/deep sound and they really purr nice at highway speeds. Today I am going to put on the Fuel Moto air cleaner.

I will say that the rear hanger bolts on the mufflers for the Harley are no fun to remove and to put back in place. I had to take many breaks because of my fulstration level while doing the rear hanger bolts. (no room to work the wrenchs or for your fingers)

Yes you can. The reason I went with the SE Fatshotz was because they have the EPA Compliance Stamp of approval on the muffler. You never know when the gov't will crack down on noise. It was starting to become an issue in NH a few years ago. It has since quieted down a bit. The way I run now I am compliant in all states because of that stamp, as long as leo doesn't go looking for or at my mods.

I think the baffles might be different between the two. As for mellowed, I can't say; but I would think the SE would be quieter.
