does the 1500 goldwing and the 1800 use the same oil filter?
the fram book shows 6017 for the 1500, and 6607 for the 1800, but i cannot find a 6017 filter, and was wondering if the 1800 filter will fit my 1500.
thanks-dave:confused:

If you are talking about Honda filters, yes, you can use either one as the length is the only difference.
The old long 1500 have now been dropped and you can only buy the short 1800 filters.(unless you can find left over long ones)
I used up my left over 1500 filters when I bought my 1800. Now I just use 1800's.

Length was the only issue . U may have trouble installing the longer 1500 on the 1800 Wal Mart Super tech #6607 works on both but the #7317 works on the 1500 ( it is the longer one )

If a filter manufacturer/marketer doesn't list a filter for a specific application, that makes me think the company doesn't believe they have one that is right for the application. An exception would be soon after a new year/model had been introduced without apparent mechanical changes. In such case, I would think an inquiry would be in order.
Filters can look similar yet have very different performance characteristics.
