on a Frankenstein conversion can you still use the solid bags I have not seen any photos showing them installed

No There is no way due to the rear fender mount, If not using the fender and mount , Maybe.

I think even without the fender mounts it would be a no. I'm sure the axle housing would be in the way. That's not to say it could not be modified.
Hank , Paughco makes a trike conversion kit that you can use your factory hard bags
