How do you adjust the running lights on a 2012 Goldwind. I think that my lights needs to come up more. Also what is the proper way to adjust them for the height.

No it is not the headlight, it is the lights below the headlight. Thanks for the information on how to adjust the headlight. I will have to check my headlights to see if they are properly adjusted.

The fog lights (that you are calling running lights) are considered an accessory so you will not find them in any shop manual. Your dealer should have given you all the papers that came with any accessory they installed on the bike. That would tell you how to adjust them.

On pre 2012 bikes you have to remove the front lower cowl and I expect that has not change. You might call the dealer and see if he can produce a copy of the install instructions.

Thanks lectric, I was told it was a big job and I have been putting it off even though I need to adjust them. Now I will get it done tomorrow. Keep up the good work....

Thanks Gold Rush. I think that Monday I will call the place where I bought the trike and ask them. I guess that I was calling the running lights when they are fog lights.

Not a problem. Running lights is probably more correct since most of us used them all the time and rarely ride in fog.. :D :D After all visibility is the name of the game -- RIGHT ??

I was riding with someone else and he said that my lights were pointing down lower then his. This is the reason I want to adjust them up higher.

When I am riding in the dark It just doesn't seem like the lights are shinning out very far making it kind of hard to see out very far. If there was something in the road I don't think that I would have time to swing out to miss it. When the lights are on brights then it seems to be ok. This the reason I thought that maybe my running lights needs to be adjusted up moe.

The OEM fog lights are only 35 watt bulbs. They are not designed as driving lights. If you have an issue with not being able to see down the road while driving at night then the main high and low beam lights need to be addressed. If the adjustment next to the shock preload adjuster is set fully clockwise and you still think the lights are too low then the manual level may need tweaking. This adjustment can be found in a shop manual or your dealer can do it. The process is really pretty easy. If you think this is now the problem shoot me a PM and I'll send you the info from my shop manual.

Somewhere I read that the lights should be adjusted like so. Put the wing 20 ft. follow a wall, measure to the middle of headlights, then mark that on the wall. Your low beams should shine below that mark and the high beams above it. And the driving lights shine below the low beams.

That sounds pretty close to what I've always believed too Randy. Having the motor driven adjustment as a fine tune resource lets me set things just a tad higher for better open road lighting. In town I rotate the aim down a bit so cagers don't get blinded. :D :D

I called the dealer today and they said that there was no adjustment for the fog lights. I will check the headlights to see if they are adjusted correctly. I think that I found something on Youtube about adjust them thatwas really good. I hope that I can find it again/

Thanks Gold Rush. Can you e-mail me the instruction? If you can my e-mail address is gjanes@suddenlink.net

I just got done putting a F-4 by 4 on my trike. The job was really easy, I was done in 1 hour. Now I am anxious seeing how well it works.
