Roadsmith Install Instructions

Hi Everyone, new member here with a Roadsmith Install question. I have a 97 GL1500 SE and converting to a trike. Being mechanically and space challenged, I am getting my local Honda dealer to do the install. I went to Roadsmith and downloaded the instructions and made a CD for him as he has not put one of Roadsmith's kits on a bike. He has put motortrike kits on some with no problem.
He looked at the instructions and said they were "crap" (not his exact words):) and he looked online for better and could not find any.
Does anyone know of any place other than Roadsmith that has the instructions and possibly a video of the install?
Sorry, for such a long first post. Thanks for any help

I realize that you did not ask but in my opinion, if he cannot install it by the instructions sent by the manufacturer, I would be uncomfortable having him do it. I have a friend that bought and installed his a few yrs. ago and never had a problem. I doubt you will find any better than the manufacturer's.

X2. I agree the installer is the key!!!! Might check with Bazooka, for any help or recommendations...

Best of luck..

Thanks for the reply and I have already looked into a Roadsmith installer to do the install. Unfortunately, the nearest one is around 300 miles away and I have no means to trailer it and the bike there, as it has already been delivered to the dealer here.

Thanks everybody for the advice and I will see what I can do. Great forum by the way glad I joined

I know the roadsmith dealer in florida has a trailer to pick up bikes in case of breakdowns.I'm sure other dealers have the same set up. I have a Roadsmith, and it was dealer built and they guarenteed it. Best wishes to you and welcome. God Bless

There are several members of this forum who have installed their own Roadsmith kits using the manufacturer instrctions without any problems whatsoever and have posted pics as they went along. I receive the strong impression your installer has very little experience and wants to blame the instructions for his lack of understanding. Roadsmith is perhaps the only kit that is friendly for owner-installation.

Someone else mentioned that the key to a happy owner is a competent installer. He is correct. Find someone who KNOWS what he is doing even if he is hundreds of miles away - this is too big an investment to flub up. The pleasure of ownership and an excellent riding experience will continue long after the extra expense has been forgotten.
