I looking for a rider backrest for my Tri Glide. Harley only offer the Adjustable Backrest for the Tri Glide. I do not want an adjustable backrest. Is there a aftermarket company that offer the other type of backrest use on their touring models for the stock Harley's seat?

The regular non-adjustable rider backrest kits from HD fit just fine, though the parts and accessories book incorrectly indicates otherwise.

In August of this year I purchased a 2011 Tri-Glide. The original owner had a fixed backrest with a pad that was made by Mustang. It is a fixed mount that bolts to the frame of the trike and fits through the stock HD seat. The pad is then bolted to the backrest. The seat I replaced with a mustang tall boy heated seat that was used on my Electraglide Limited. My mustang seat is not compatible with the fixed backrest account it had a receiver built into the seat. Let me know if you think this would work for you and I will try to get some pictures. PM me or e-mail me at bluepantera@verizon.net.

The above is true.

Any backrest that fits a 2 wheel Touring HD will also fit the Tri-Glide. I am running the same model that I used on my 05 Road King and 09 Ultra on my 11 Tri-Glide. No modification necessary, it bolts right up.

What DK said.....any backrest that fits 2-wheel touring will fit Tri-Glides. HD just wants you to buy the most expensive one (lol).

I took the back rest off my '08 Ultra and bolted it to the '09 Tri Glide. Out of curiosity, why don't you want the adjustable unit?? You seem very set on that. It's not like I adjust mine very often, it just was availble when I wanted one for my Ultra way back when.

Hi Screwball,

Since, I only have the trike and will only adjust the backrest once during installation. I rather spend the additional cost on some other parts. Thanks!

Does anyone know if the Kuryaken #1670 back rest will work on a 2012 TG with a one piece Mustang seat?

Give kuryakyn a call & have them tell you why it won't fit. Many times they take Harley's word for parts fitting the Trike. Harley says NO on about half the parts that will fit just fine.
Most of the backrests will fit the 2012 Trike without a problem. The directions show everything the same as other touring models.:Coffee:

I used the one off my 2004 ultra and fit perfect. They say the adjustable one is the only one that fits so they can sell you something else and make more money. I bought the adjustable backrest too then found out my old one would fit so traded it for something Dennis had.
