Reverse

My reverse is a real dog (extremely slow) and seems to have no torque. Example: front tire went off driveway into grass, maybe 1 inch lower, and i could not back up without having help. Anybody else experience this and if so what was the fix. I believe the reverse mtr is actually the starter. Is that correct. Thanks in advance!!!

The starter motor is what powers reverse. A one inch drop off requires HUGE amounts of torque and traction to overcome and I'm not surprised you required some help.

The speed is set at 1/2 mph. Remember, this sytem was designed for two wheelers, not trikes. Anything faster, since the speed is not variable, would be almost impossible to control as a two wheeler. My reverse on a 1500, 1800 two wheeler, and 1800 trike works well on normal surfaces.

The Honda reverse is the starter motor.
There is no FIX.

It is what it is. Just be glad you have a reverse. It's extremely slow but I've never had a problem backing up an incline. Being it is using the starter motor, I use it as little as possible. Many times you can stand off to the side, grab the handrail and use your knee against the fender and move the bike back.

Those Honda's. Just not as strong as an HD TG. Seperate reverse motor. OK, so it burned out once, but they replaced it with a higher RPM/Torque motor. :ImWith::Joker3:
