Reverse Transmission shifter

Just purchased 2003 Ultra with Lehman conversion. The ultra has the reverse built into the transmission. The problem is everytime I try to shift into reverse I burn my arm. Anyone have any ideas how to change the shifting lever or other ways of stopping the problem.

There is a thread on here somewhere addressing that problem wherein a member fabricated an extension for the reverse shifter arm. Can't remember who it was or where the post is. I'm assuming you still have the stock exhaust which places the shifter arm close to the cross-over pipe. You could either install a true dual exhaust to do away with the crossover or fabricate an extension for the shifter.

If your Ultra has the stock head pipe you can get a Fullsac kit to turn your current exhaust into a true dual exhaust.
