My buddy and I have a disagreement about this. I say if your park brake goes out while under factory warranty it would be covered, and probably would be covered if it went out under an extended warranty. He claims that when he bought his first TG (2016) the dealer told him it was a perishable item, like tires, and would probably not be covered under warranty.

What say ye.....

EDIT: brain fart #2000000000...…I meant the reverse motor. Not sure how I titled this and decided it was the park brake. Old age ain't for sissy boys!

The parking brake cable broke on my 2015 Freewheeler, it was covered under extended warranty. The dealer replaced it the same time they changed the rocker box gasket and some other gasket so I had to give them $50.

If the cable or the handle' springs Brake Etc, Then that should be warrantied ......

To answer the question you didn't mean to ask . . . yes, I do think the parking brake components would be covered under factory warranty or ESP.

Ditto for the reverse motor. Your starter motor is covered and it to wears a bit each time you start the motor and yet it is covered.

I personally don't see any rationale or grounds to deny coverage for the reverse motor.

What up Bill :wave4: ...nahh, just making sure the Texas 2 don't scare off Fuzzy

Just back a bit ago from a 5000 mile ride. Runnin to east side of Pa in 2 weeks & waitin for last day of Sept to head your way. ....Know what ya mean about the Texas 2, they team up & we all need to watch out. lololol. See ya in Oct. We stayed with Lola to get her to St.Louis in May from Eureka Springs. She's a sweety. Carla too. :p

I have 2016 Tri Glide.....This May 2018 (1.5 yr into the 2 yr standard warranty), my reverse went out......took to dealer....dealer never even blinked and replaced reverse motor with new one "Free of charge!"......The new motor sounds a little stronger than the original stock reverse motor. (but it could just be my imagination?)....anyway, dealer told me the only difference with the std. 2 yr warranty and the extended warranty is that the extended warranty part would have cost me 50 bucks.....(labor I guess)

Cheers!

I really appreciated that, Bill & Janiene. Made the ride so much more fun as well as safer since my right tail light was out and my battery was going down. Doc's Harley in St. Louis is really a super dealership, just like you said. :)

I promise you the labor was more than $50.00. There is always a $50.00 charge under extended warranty.

I have had two reverse motors replaced on my 14 TriGlide and Warranty / Extended Warranty covered them both. Thing is, I hardly ever used the dang thing and very low mileage on the Trike. I talked with Harley and was told due too the problems with my Trike, even if the warranty ran out, Harley would replace the motor due too the History on file. I dont know if I will hold my breath too see that happen, but...who knows, it could.
