I currently have a 2001 GL 1800. I have a Tow-Pac Insta-Trike kit installed on it. I have a line on a 2005 RoadSmith HT 1800 trike back half. It was in a building that had a fire in it. Seller says it sustained minor Smoke and Heat damage.
He had it sanded and primed. The inner workings are fine. The chrome rims have a slight miss-color to them. Tires look OK. He's asking $4000.00 or best offer for it. Any recommendations or thoughts about purchasing the unit?
Thanks Jerry.

Jerry, I just don't know if that is a save bet or not. I think Roadsmith is the place to ask that question. Taylor Young is who I'd be asking. He is one very sharp young man. Call: (800) 331-0705

Good Luck!! :xszpv: :xszpv:

Even if you get it for $2,000.00, I would have someone who is familiar with trikes inspect it first.
Is this the kit on Cycle Trader ???

There have been several cases in the last year or so where "to good to be true" deals appear. Customers are asked to send a "deposit" to hold the bike and the supposed seller disappears quicker than a virgin on prom night. Be careful of deals that seem to good to be true. Check carefullly A friend on mine almost got took on a trike where a scammer had "borrowed" a pic from a legic site.

The seller is in your state so take a road trip and drive the 350 miles to Granville. Take your checkbook and a pickup. You've heard money talks.
Look for any melted rubber components that will tell you of how much heat has gotten to it. From the looks of it and the options it looks to be a fair deal even for $4000.00.

Actually after looking at the auction it looks like a pretty dang good deal. Make him an offer and see where it goes. I'm surprised sometimes how many I win with offers. I'd say offer him 3500. I'll bet he takes it. If you go to check it out and it's not all he says it is just don't complete. You'll be fine.
