Curious if anyone on here is riding the Yelvington rear shocks and what your opinion is? Also interested to know about the Progressives as well. I'm looking to make a change and considering the DK Custom setup. But wanted to know about others before I decided..... thanks.

I'm on a 2016 TriGlide

Dk 14 inch shocks and lift kit

I bough bike with out riding it 33 yrs 2 wheels was not happy bike felt I like I was going to turn over misses refused to ride

installed DK shocks and lift kit we rode 600 miles this weekend that's all I have to say beside don't try to save a couple a hundred on something that might work

Hey Becky!

Cant comment on progressive or other rear shocks myself (other than the crappy HD std air shocks).........But, may I suggest that if you go with the rear shocks from

DKCustoms ....you need the complete kit (if you dont already have the Comfort Lift on your trike........................use this listing from their website:

[h=2]Combo Package - 14" Harley Trike Series Shocks™ & Comfort Lift™ Pro-Action[/h]....I too have a 2016 TG and this is what I used and very glad I did! ....REALLY made a huge comfort difference!..........just my 2 pennies here.

The Pro-Action Shocks & Lift Kit from DK is the most expensive upgrade I've made so far, but it is without a doubt the most rewarding, enjoyable and immediately noticeable thing I've done to my trike! I only wish I had done it earlier.

The trike handles MUCH BETTER, feels like I'm in control now. Before at times I would bounce along and wonder, at times, how things were going to end up. Feels sure footed and planted, I would not have thought shocks would have made this much difference! They have really smoothed out my ride!

The only downside, now I ride faster, have to keep an eye on the speed so I don't end up with a ticket!

Hey James!

......Everything you said is TRUE! ....I noticed the speed increase too! (after The 14" ProAction Combo Kit from DK was installed) The TriGlide simply handles that much better!

....at first I thought it was just me unknowingly justifying that expensive purchase to myself!!!!

...but in a short while I realized that it was the Trikes' improved ride and handling!!! WOW! ....Who Knew?

Cheers!

Stop holding your breath!

Others have weighed in on the DK setup already and they are all absolutely spot on when recommending their progressive shocks and comfort lift package. Like you, I really wanted to be certain that I was spending my money wisely. It's a big purchase. I have bought many items from DK and all have been superb, not only in design, but function. Every time I add one of their products to my Tri-Glide I ask myself why it took me so long to make the decision.

I finally decided to spend the money on the shocks a few months ago. Our roads here in North TX can be really nasty and I was tired of being banged around. My first few rides after the install were noticeably better, but it was hard to quantify what I was feeling (or not feeling). My first impressions were that the improved ride was firm, but not harsh. I had the "eureka" moment a few weeks back while riding a local road that is hellish even in a car with modern suspension. I suddenly realized that I had been holding my breath in each of the nasty sections out of habit from riding on the stock shocks. As I relaxed and started to just breathe normally, I was no longer inclined to tense up at all! No more harsh pounding! What a great feeling of relief.

Hope that helps,

Gary

Hey Gary!

Were you talking about your front suspension being Progressive shocks that you added?.....If so, then I assume you already added the rear 14' Harley Trike combo ProAction & comfort lift kit?....I'm a little slow and simple minded.

Cheers!

My bad.

I was talking about the pro action / comfort lift combo. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I was replying to the original post which was about rear shocks.

Hard to add anything of substance to all the good recommendations but I'll add my $.02 as well . . . DK Customs set up of 14" Pro-Action shocks and convertible lift kit. You can't go wrong with it and if there is anything better out there I've not found it. It is that good.

I had a like new set of Progressive 440's that I sent back to manufacturer to have heavy duty springs installed. They were 13" standards on a Road Glide previously. I mounted them upside down with 3 turns of preload and my 2014 Tri rides awesome for my wife and I. I also have a lift kit installed.

Over 60 yrs of riding,& countless brand of shocks tried, You can't ( in my opinion ) get a better rear shock than the Pro-Action shocks. They are set up to weight of riders & luggage, I put a set on my 16 Tri over 15,000 miles ago. Best $$ spent. The guy that builds these in Pa. used to build for Ohlin, which is another good shock, but his are even better. That link Rooster sent with the combo purchase is a pretty good deal. Ride safe & hope to see you in May at Eureka Springs.
