Rear Airfoil

Don't have a Stallion, but I'm pretty sure rear airfoils don't really make any difference below 100 mph.

Look under the Stallion assessories section of the forum, you will see pictures of one or two there. Mostly for looks and lights.

You are most likely getting buffering from the sides, install a side air dam it will help. There are two types currently being made for the Stallion. They both have plus and minus depending on what you like. There was a thread on them in the Stallion section as well. I put Baker wings on my wifes and she love them, a forum member (forgot who) also makes a custom fit dam that looks great but is not adjustable. Again always a choice

I have the custom fit wind dam. It does help alot. I think it should have come down a little more toward the bottom of the bike.

From what I remember from a long time ago the spoiler is mainly for looks and as someone else said...lights.

For racing purposes it only did any good if you were traveling at like 186.4 mph (or was that 184.6 ???).

I would think that the Spoiler is for Looks and Lights. The Rear Airfoil is not a spoiler. That is why I thought it would help... This is a picture of one. It mounts behind the back seat.

rear air foil- i have made & tested several "back draft windscreens"that i mounted to the "decrative roll bar" with no change with the backdraft(just driver no pass.) all backdraft screens for convertible cars are mounted just behind the front seats onto the head rests&/or back of seat. i will mount one onto the stallion driver backrest & test it.info from goldwing passengers state the windscreen on back of pass. seat helps pass not the driver. hope this info helps riverrat69

Cupcake...I apologize...I did not read it close enough to see that you meant airfoil. Having only seen the spoilers on the Stallion...I jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Good luck with it and hopefully it may work for you.

riverrat69 -in ref to the "backdraft" screen that i was to install onto the drivers backrest.i installed one that measured 36" tall with the bottom edge of the "screen"being even with the seat cushion and extended from side to side of the inner body. i tested it at all different heights up to 24"above the top of my head--the results: VERY LITTLE reduction with backdraft upon the back of neck of driver! i also made a set of "wings" for the sides of the windshield & they also resulted in VERY little backdraft reduction. when it is cold i use "the tube" for my neck&/or a baclava-turn up the "tunes, enjoy the ride &hope for warmer weather.

Hi riverrat69,
Thanks for the response and the testing of the rear air foil. It sounds like you did a very good job in the testing of that and the windshield wings. Sounds like we will have to keep on looking for a fix....
