Read The Instructions!

Based on a recent thread, I decided to change the batteries in my key fobs. (BTW, 20 batteries on Amazon for 10 bucks.) I swapped both out without incident. The next day, I pushed the bike out of the garage (the wife sleeps over the garage so I couldn't start it.) I tried to start the bike and discovered the security system had been activated. I tried to enter the code but it would not take. I ran upstairs and got my spare fob, thinking it may work. It did not (flash, flash). I then resorted to, heaven forfend, the manual. I figured out (page 106, flash flash), that you had to enter the code BETWEEN CYCLES of the alarm. I tried. I was too slow. I tried again. Success! I went to work.

I drank coffee. I avoided productivity. I opened the fobs with my boot knife. I studied. I went out and got the manual and studied more. My boss watched me and saw me engaged in deep concentration. I could not figure it out. I looked at the fobs. I looked at the batteries. I looked at the inside of the fobs. Finally, in desperation, I looked at the instructions on the inside of the fob cover. Viola! The inscription reads, "+ up." I took this to mean I had the GD batteries in upside down. I was correct.

Next up-the differences between the 2032 battery and the 2016 battery, AKA, Why Doesn't My Freaking Corolla Start.

BTW again, 2016 batteries are 4 bucks each at the Kroger.

INSTRUCTIONS! Men don't need no stinkin instructions.:laugh:.Cant tell you how many times I have had my wife say with that certain catie tone ,did you read the instructions.

Guys are not programmed to read instructions..after all, instructions are only the authors opinion
