Re-torquing Steering Head Bearings on Road Star

Has anyone done their own re-torquing of the steering head bearings on a Yamaha Road Star. It's obvious that mine need to be redone. Before I take my bike to the shop to have it done, I am wondering how complicated it would be to do it myself. I found a steering head ring nut wrench that can be used with a torque wrench on Amazon for $32. But it looks like I'd need to do a lot of disassembly in order to get to the ring nuts.

It looks harder than it is.Handlebars,windshield,stem nut,top clamp.Then retorque and reassemble.
