I just completed my champion RS kit. I did not get the rake kit and it will be a while on our limited retirement budget before we can get afford one. Are there other small things you can do to help eliminate low speed shake and bump steer, that don't cost so much?

Rake Kit will be the absolute Best Thing You ever do to Your Trike.....You will wonder, after doing it, WHY did I ever wait so long....most anything else You can do will be very minimal in comparison.......ThumbUp

John if you haven't already get the OEM front tire off and replace it with some version of a rear bias ply sport bike tire. This will help some but for sure you need the rake kit PDQ.... When it's time get hold of Zook , our fearless leader. He'll give you the best deal you'll ever find. He's also the go to guy if you have any questions about rake kits.

Most guys use either the Bridgestone Battle Axx BT45 or the Michelin Pro Activ (MPA). Use the same size tire as OEM. Some rides have it mounted forward rotating and some mount it in reverse rotation. There are many threads on the forum about that so do a search for reverse rotation and read all about it... Here us the current running thread...

Rake as soon as you can John. You will be much happier!! :xszpv::xszpv:

Im in the same boat. I have found that softer air in the back air bags and proper inflation of the front tire helped me a lot.

Still going to rake it when its possible. Life just keeps making me put it off.

I have the 4.5 rake on my Champion.
I had my dealer take out the original bearings and replace them with in the "All Balls" brand, when I bought my new trike in 06.
You might want to check your steering head bearings.
Mine started to wobble at low speeds and I'm having my dealer replace the bearings next week.
I have just over 40,000 miles on the Trike.
