Rake Kits

Re: rake kit from Bazooka

Hello, I have a 2006 CSC GL1800 with a 6 degree rake and I very happy with it. My question is, I also have a 2002 GL1800 with a Hannigan GTL Sidecar and would like to rake it also now that I no longer plan to remove the sidecar and ride as a two wheeler. What would be the best degree 4 or 6. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bruce

I would recommend the 4.5 degree for the sidecar setup.

Re: rake kit from Bazooka

Thanks for bringing that up Paul..and I will clarify my statement as well. The only known issue I have had with the locking mechanism NOT functioning straight out of the box has been on Paul's '89 Tour Glide and one other pre-1990 FL series Harley-Davidson I triked several years ago, so I cannot guarantee it to lock the front end on any pre-1990 bikes.

:D P.S. That can be corrected with a drill bit in a few minutes if you plan for it.
You don't need a deep hole so i wouldn't worry about weakening the triple tree
If your clever and have a welding machine you can make a locking slot for the lock bolt with a pipe and small mounting tabs, just drill and tap and use small screws to secure it to the tree.

Re: rake kit from Bazooka

here is something i wanted to add.

THE TREES COME WITH A 2 INCH EXTENSION TO ADD TO THE TOP. THEY ARE A BIT DIFFICULT TO INSTALL DU.jpg

ThumbUp THE TREES COME WITH A 2 INCH EXTENSION TO ADD TO THE TOP OF THE TUBES, THEY SCREW IN, THE TOP NUT IS A BIT DIFFICULT TO INSTALL DUE TO THE FORK SPRINGS.
:Shrug:YOU MAY HAVE TO USE A VISE TO HOLD THE TOP NUT TO HELP IN COMPRESSING THE SPRING.
I HAD SOME HELP AND WAS ABLE TO DO IT WITH MY OWN ARM STRENGTH.ThumbUp

NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO CHANGE THAT FORK OIL! ThumbUp

:10: THE TUBES SCREW INTO THE UPPER TRIPLE TREE,SO NO CHANCE OF TUBE MISALIGNMENT OR FOR UNEVENNESS.
SCREW IN HAND TIGHT ONLY, SO PUT AWAY YOUR PIPE WRENCH BOYS. I REALLY LIKE THIS FEATURE, ThumbUp THERE IS NO CHANCE AT FORK MISALIGNMENT AND THE UPPER FORK CLAMP IS ELIMINATED

Re: rake kit from Bazooka

Bought a 6degree kit from Bazooka for Valkyrie with CSC trike kit; made a world of difference. Wife wanted to learn to ride, I wouldn't let her on the road with it pre-rake kit; she loves it. Makes the rig handle like I think it should. Have put about a thousand miles on it and am completely satisfied. I operate a machine shop myself, and can tell you that the fit and finish on these parts is beyond criticism.

New to trikes and am pretty happy with it although I still have my bike.
