WENT out for supper last night while inside it started raining,ran out coverd the seat and grabed my rain gear went back inside and ate.
Rode home in a pouring down rain.
I have never under stood why they do not put windshield wipers on a wing,I know for a fact the 1500s that were made in marysville for Japan had them because I saw them and not just one I saw a couple of hundred of them,when I asked about them I was told they were for Japan.
:Shrug::Shrug::Shrug::Shrug::Shrug::confused::confused::confused::confused:

The Wings made for Japan had wipers because the law there says they must have them. There are a few kits and add-on things I've seen for rain abatement. The thing that works best in the rain for me is polish the windshield with Lemon Pledge and keep moving.

I read a while back and tried this. IT WORKS better than anything i have ever tried. I think it is something that deep sea divers use to keep googles from fogging.
Take a bar of hand soap and do entire windshild wash off with clear water---

Probably because the execs at Honda figured that the typical American Wing rider would never, never ride in the rain???

Guess Scalp Hunter 'n' I aren't 'typical' - check out the tale of our last trip to North Carolina . . . 34 hours of rain, fog, hail and other associated crapola, just to have a few days with our TrikeTalk buddies!

that sounds odd. i have been told my several honda dealers that there were never any wings sent to japan because there are restrictions on engine size in japan. any of you vets ever actually "SEE" a wing in japan ? i know when japanese tourist see one they about photograph the paint off them. that said, i was asked to inspect a 1500 wing trike last week. it had a windshield wiper installed, you had to look over the w/s due to the plastic being totally ripped to shreds by the wiper. just won't work on a plastic w/s.

RODEDO1.
They do sell
them there,the bikes I saw there were 1500s this was in 1998.
As you may know they are now making the gold wing in Japan again and they are selling them there.
Another thing a lot of people do not know is since they came out with the 1200 they make gold wing police bikes for Japan which you can not get here.

I was referring to Honda Brass, not the real bikers here. Sorry if you took me wrong.:Shrug::Shrug:

No problem, Jon - am PM'ing back 'n' forth with a new member from Japan who has a GW 1800 WITH windshield wipers - he doesn't seem to have any problem with the wipers scratching his 'shield, but his polymer might be entirely different from ours . . .

I see no reason they could not build a gold wing with a elec,adustible wind shield like BMW made with the same matearel as a f-4 wind shield with wipers.
