Question on parking

We have a downtown that has parallel parking. We go there a lot to eat. Do you guys park your Trike like a car ( may be difficult to get out) or like the bikes do, backed in at an angle? I had never thought about this before and haven't seen any trikes downtown parked. Since I don't have mine yet, it would be nice to learn some things before it arrives....which will be SOON.

Thanks

Ironhorse- Great question. Id parallel park it. I think it would be less likely to get hit because the front end wouldn't be as exposed. The average trike is a good 9ft+ long but only about 52-56" wide. Bet your good and ready to get that trike.

When it's parallel parking, Steve parks like that, when it's regular pull-in parking in front of where we're going, he parks like a car. If we have to park across a parking lot from where we're going, he will usually back in--kind of depends on the incline. He still does not like to back uphill.

Bazooka, you are so right. I am so ready for that Trike. I may take off on it and never come back:p

Guess parallel is the way to go. Thanks everyone. Knowing me I will go around the block to make sure I get one on the end.

If I'm parked with a lot of bikes then I angle it the same way they are. Doesn't stick out any further then the other bikes. When parking alone, I park the same as a car. Straight in or sideways.

We park ours the way its most safe and inline with comfort of backing. check each situation when you get there and don't worry about other people and their ways. Each and everytime will be different. It will become second nature to you in No time at all...
kodiak:cool:

I always back in on a 45 deg. not quite parallel and in the middle of the space.
