:qpnmt:.

That $56,000 sounds bad until I convert it to US dollars. Then its only $52,410.
Woops, that's still sounds pretty bad. Never mind.:qpnmt:

It's no wonder you guys buy one here, ride it for a month, then import it to Oz as a used trike! Even shipping and import taxes wouldn't put it up that high! Yikes!

Holy Moses!

I gave $12,500 for my new 89 Tour Glide when it was born and thought that was outrageous That works out to about $520 per year so that looks good in the long run.

I would have to keep the tri glide until i died to make it affordable, and knock about 20 years, Off my current age to work that one out?

I think i paid about $4,500 in 1972 for a new Harley and it was AMF junk.

About $3,500 for a 1971 Ford Ranchero, and people pay $5.00 for a bad cup of Starbucks coffee these days? Go Figure!

If i watched what i was doing I could build three nice trikes for $52,000

Heck i can't afford $36,000 for a new tri glide stateside!

I just better keep my old Glide and smile about it huh?

comes down to HD Australia being lazy scammers.
they did some sort of deal to take all the trikes for the New Zealand market and ship them tp Australia via NZ to avoid ADR compliance. apparently any bike legal in NZ is deemed ok in Australia. they must be registering them in NZ to get compliance then de registering them and selling them as new here. thus avoiding the $5000 ADR compliance i have to pay because the trike came direct from the USA. the trikes from NZ have the same wheels and tyres as my trike, but as a USA import they are not legal...
Sorry Bikerbozo but our Government are the real clowns, but they arent very funny...
still my total cost will be close to $35,000 as a 1 of import going through ADR. so its well worth it.
whats the difference between a Peleco fish and HD Australia???
ones a scum sucking bottom feeder, and the other is a fish...

In UK, Triglide STARTS at £28,000 = $46,000 - plus extras, ie everything you want is extra.
A decent conversion on your current bike is £16,000+ = $25,000+, and forget resale value.
Fuel is $9.50 per (proper) gallon.
Not complaining, I'm happy here - just that I might be even happier somewhere else....
Cheers
PS what's the difference between a walrus and an Essex girl? One's got a moustache and smells of fish, the other's a walrus...

where are they assembled? i,d buy a electra glide & put a frankenstein kit on it. much better quality & more options. total here is about 7,500 plus 500.00 install or do it yourself. made in kansas, usa

Price in South Africa is 430000 Rands which is close to 43000 US or Aus dollars so buy them from here, they arrive 100% complete. Last week I ordered a Tourpack for my Valkyrie from them after getting the part numbers from an ex Lehman guy in the States who told me the price delivered to the SA dealer was half what he would have paid direct from Harley.
