Price Jump on MotorTrike Drive shaft of dealer ripping me off?

Based on other posts, last year Motor Trike was selling the replacement driveshaft kit for around $150 individuals (not to dealers).

This year it's dealer only sales.

I just got a quote for the parts (and install) from the Honda/MotorTrike dealer that currently has my trike for collision repair.

They want $350 for the parts and 2 hours labor for a total of $600.

WTF? Am I getting hosed by the dealer on the MotorTrike parts?

The next closest dealer wanted to see and measure the bike before giving me a quote on standard MotorTrike parts. WTF again?

SIGH...

I understand Motor Trike has indeed stopped selling parts direct to the public. I don't know if you will get any justification but a call to Motor Trike to let them know about the dealer RIP OFF might get you some action. GOOD LUCK :xszpv::xszpv:

As a MT owner who got the newer driveshaft for the $150ish price.
Id call MT and make your case with this particular dealer.
Its maybe a 20-30 minute install at most.. A few bolts off and it slides right in.
Not a major change over by any means.

You have a trike. That means you have unlimited funds:xzqxz:
So the dealer is acting like he can charge anything he wants.:AGGHH:
Seriously, plead your case direct to MT.
