For those of you that have a power port mounted, where did you put it?

I bought the port, instructions say to pull the left box, it would be marked on the backside where to drill. Found the factory wiring easily enough, just unsure which side of the box to make the hole. It ain't marked....

Is there an alternate mounting position? Might want to add another. I'm wanting to get this done for the Garmin before the MV trip.

TIA

Thanks Ray. I went to the local MT dealer this AM to get the new style drive shaft installed, and while there, looked at about 8 of his trikes. The ports were all in the left dash box, dead front or right front as you suggest. Kinda beveled corner there, think I'll use that. Looks easier to push a plug into it.

I did not explain very well did I. You are correct the right beveled corner is where I put mine.In the left pocket. Also have one in lower trunk of motor trike.

I added mine in the right side pod panel. I took out the glove box and had just enough room under it that it didn't hit the radiator cap. You cant really center it if you use that panel. Helps I have the Standard model. No controls for anything in that panel. If you use the left side box. The OEM port is in the lower right hand side corner and takes up a lot of room.

We have a 2004 GL1800. I put a port in the usual place, the left pocket. I seem to remember it was marked on the box where to drill. IMAG0025.JPG

I also put a "quick connect' port under the lock for the right pocket for the heated jacket liner. This kind of connection is used for Gerbings, Warm & Safe, Harley, Firstgear and most other heated gear:

2004 Wings didn't come with rear speakers, we have helmet speakers so I added a quick connect and a cigarette style port where the right speaker would go: IMAG0021.JPG

I have a battery charger pig tail hard wired to the battery, and the plug end lives behind the seat. I also have a cigarette plug adapter so I can connect to the battery without having to turn the ignition on.

I've thought of adding an outlet inside the upper trunk, but I'm probably wired up enough.
