posting picture

Ran into this same issue just recently... according to Bazooka, the moderator here, you should be able to post almost any size picture directly, but when I tried to post pictures my wife took of our riding in NC and TN, I got the same message. Her Samsung Galaxy standard resolution produces picture files of 2-3 MB in size, which wouldn't upload, but when I opened them in MS Picture Manager and compressed them for document use, it made them 300-400 KB, which worked fine.

Here are some instructions posted here sometime back on picture posting...

Go to "Reply to Thread" Window as usual.
Click the "Insert Image" Icon in Reply Window Tool Bar (hover over it to get function tag to appear and confirm Icon)
The Insert Image window will pop up.
Click "from Computer" Tab in upper left.
Click "Select Files" button in lower middle-the File Explorer Window will pop up.
Go to Pic location and select Pic File by clicking on or touching it.
Click "Open" button in lower right-File Explorer Window will go away and the "Insert Image" window will reappear showing your selected Pic File in it.
Click "Upload File" button in lower middle-Insert Image Window goes away and you will see the Pic in the body of your reply.
Double Left-Click (quickly) with Cursor on/over the Picture and the Image Editor Window will pop up.
From there you can adjust the Size & Alignment (left, middle, or right).
Click once, then Click and Hold and you can move/drag it around the Message-Release to drop.
Then,,, Either "Preview Post" then post Reply or click "Submit Reply" and TA-DA !

Zook, can you shed any light on this? Is there a cutoff in file size?

Hope this helps, and Thanks

I use a free program downloadable from the internet to resize pictures and convert them to a JPG format which is necessary to post a pic.

it is called( PIXresize) its simple to use.

I've tried several times to post pictures it just doesn't work for some reason did what instruction say , indicates file is to big can't seem to down size the picture

I found a free reduce app too. I usually have to mess with the picture a few times. Rarely post a photo because of it. I try and go with the smallest resolution on pictures.

Set up a free photobucket account and resize it or just set your camera to the lowest resolution and you will be good to go.

Msoko and a few other members recommended the PIX resizer to me and I can just select the size I want.

99% of the pictures we all take never make it to print, we either post to the internet or view them on the camera or the computer so setting your camera to the lowest resolution is what you need to do. That is what I finally did and it saves a lot of time by not having to resize them.
