I work in a copper mine so I was thinking I would really like to have something on my trike to be copper plated. I now have the parts on the way and will be sending them to the plating company as soon as they arrive. The issue I want to deal with from the start is tarnishing. Do any of you know if the 3M paint protective film would be best in preserving the shine or since I use F11 would that keep the shine.

Not going to say what the parts are but will be posting Photos as soon as the parts are returned and installed.

Thanks in Advance,

Kurt

I don't think either one would work. You probably need to have the items Clear-coated to maintain the shine.

I have copper engraving plates and the only way to keep them shiny is to use Brasso...

every now and then, I tried clear coating them and it would start pealing off....

Clear coat

Thanks everyone. I guess I will look into using a clearcoat material. I am hoping the plating company can steer me in the right direction. I checked on the Everbright that was suggested and it seems to be a type of clearcoat.

Thanks again for the help.
