Did anybody hear about super glue? Couple of drops & repair is made. It could also come apart with a razor blade.

I do not think that superglue would hold due to the needed higher bonding pressure and operating temperatures.

my stallion #555 is getting the hood glued as i key this at my dealer, the 2 part adshieve is being used took a year for tbms to acknowledge it was there problem. will report on how it works. leaving on the 15 for a 3 week ride about in the west.................ralph upstate n.y.

A while back i shattered the front fender on a susuki c 50 trike i had (Plastic) . After getting the price for a new fender from a dealer and surviving the "sticker shock" i figured i would try to piece it back together . I used "Plastic weld" from a local auto parts store and it worked great.
After it was done i primed and sanded it out and made a reverse mold from it and made a fiberglass fender for it. (still have the mold if anyone ever needs a fender)
Another product that works well is fibergel. It is a fiberglas gel with the consistancy of bondo and works well. It is expensive by the gallon but if all you need is a small amount I keep it in stock and could send you baby food jar of it to try.

super glue has held mine for 4 months with over 5000 miles including about 1000 miles in the rain.

I wish I knew about that stuff before I rebuilt my side cover ( right battery side cover on a 1500 Goldwing . ). I to used Plastic weld to stick all the parts together . I wish I had thought to make a mold of the cover before I painted it . I could sell a ton of them. U see people looking for them all the time . OEM in flat black are over $200.00 . They fly off quite easily . I bolted mine on now .

Now, no offense to ANYONE, but if I spent 30 plus grand on a Stallion, and the body was doing all this stuff, I'd have an anyurism! For those of us on the fence, should I stay away from plastic body stallions? Seems there are quite a few issues with Stallions.?? jimsjinx

It is my understanding that the majority of stock holders in Stallion are also major stock holders in super glue corporations :yes:

I didn't think it was that big of a deal. If you can find a new one, call the factory and ask them what they have done to correct the problem before you buy it !!!! I thought it was really the early plastic body ones anyway and it may be water under the bridge for the newer ones.

Mattels ride has been very well taken care of, if you are thinking along those lines. My wifes Stallion is fiberglass and we are happy with it, but if you look at the pictures Big Dog posted of Tomg's crash that plastic body did very well at absorbing as they are suppose to.

and just think, the insurance repair bill was only $17k !!!!
